Wear it Pink Day

We recently raised money for research into Breast Cancer and all came into school wearing pink.   We all enjoyed our break making and eating pink biscuits.

We will remember them…

Our children today took time out of class to remember those who gave their lives in the Great War and World War 2.

We learnt about Frederick Read, 19 year old soldier, who came from West Tytherley and went to our school as a young boy.  He was killed in action and many people within the village knew him well and missed him very much.

We met beside our war memorial, where Rebecca and Thomas read out the names of 21  soldiers.  After one minutes silence, Mrs Ralf played the ‘last post’ and the children were very thoughtful.  Thank you for all those who supported this event.

Coffee Morning for Macmillan Charity – 30th Sept 2015 @ 9.30-11.00

From its early beginnings, founded in 1911 by Douglas Macmillan, Macmillan Cancer Support has grown to become the largest cancer care and support charity in the UK.

As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support’s goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship fundraising event. Each year, members of the general public host their own coffee morning and the donations received go towards Macmillan services. In addition we would like the children to be involved by donating a minimum of £1 to the charity and in return they can attend school on Wednesday in non-school uniform! For addition information on the coffee morning and information on how you can participate please contact Gabby Fletcher-Ralph on 01980 867 852 or via email on gabsfletcher@hotmail.com.
